  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are numerous opportunities to get involved with volunteer work in the local area. However there are few sports teams (netball team was disbanded due to lack of funding) - Football and Tough Rugby teams are available socially and there are walking and Pilates groups. Heavily discounted membership to the local state of the art gym which holds regular exercise classes There are some opportunities depending on your role to attend external events such as International Petroleum Week and One Young World Summit (which I attended in Ottawa in 2016 and is a fantastic opportunity!)

  • 9b. Why?
  • Great company to work for overall, friendly atmosphere across the floors with supportive management and good training. Generally a great place to work and I feel looked after and valued by the company

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BP?
  • Do not be put off by the Assessment Centre stage of the interview process - its not as daunting as it sounds! Generally the Assessment Centre will focus on how quickly you pick up new skills and information rather than your prior knowledge. Although no background in energy markets is expected but some background reading of BP Values, Supply/Demand Economics and Oil/Gas markets would be useful
