Concept trimmer - to produce seats steering wheels and other parts for concept vehicles in design
Before the apprenticeship I had no trimming skills have developed skills like sewing and leather cutting. I have build on skills like assembly that I had done before.
I enjoy my job when I have something to do as I enjoy being busy, most of the people are nice. I don't enjoy college as they make multiple mistakes which they then turn into pressure on the students to catch up.
I feel valued as we are told we are the future.
at work it Is well structured with practice jobs and samples to develop skills. college is poorly structured with subjects not being taught properly and then they apprentices having to play catch up.
I have not been given a mentor at work but I have a work based learning manager employed by the college who gives me advice.
I haven't been given a mentor at work so support is limited but overall good as a few people do help me at work.
quite well, a lot is spent in traveling costs though, mainly fuel.
We go on one csr event each per year which is like going to schools.
Yes
The money is good.
in terms of application just be keen and interested to learn. keep up with or ahead of work as you can as when the college messes up it will help you out.
