  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a technician and on a day to day basis I come into the office and use modelling programs either Reivt or AutoCAD or DiaLUX to produce designs and drawings that we get given from senior engineers

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have leant loads of new skills and I am working towards my Level 3 Btech and then my Uni Dergree. you get send on training curses and time out of work to go away and learn new skills and Arup are there to help you when needed.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love coming into work every day and I enjoy my job so much it doesn't feel like a job it feels more like a social. You get to come into work and know that there will be people around you to make you feel comfortable and help you out

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Arup?
  • Although I am the lowest down the ranks in Arup, they make you feel like a valued member of the group and treat you no different to anyone else. They take you along to site and meetings too.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well put together and there are people to help you every step of the way. They make sure that you are doing okay with regular meetings with you and your college and if you need any help of think something is wrong there are people to talk to

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • You receive as much support as you want, if you don't ask for it you won't get it. But if you feel like you do need help everyone try their best to help you and if they don't know the answer they will ask someone else.

  • You receive as much support as you want, if you don't ask for it you won't get it. But if you feel like you do need help everyone try their best to help you and if they don't know the answer they will ask someone else.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • For starting out as a young person in thew work place with no bills to pay the salary is amazing and you will be well above all your other friends. You will be able to start a pension at the age of 16 which is crazy.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are soo many opportunities which are outside of work for example when you want to go and get your engtech you are supported by Arup to go out and get more legal documents to get you through your career.

  • Yes

  • I am having such an amazing time here and the people are fantastic as well as the company


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arup?
  • Just be yourself and enjoy it and then people will help you
