  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My Role as an apprentice is working on the 20C Legacy Team. on a day-to-day basis I do tasks such as decommissioning MUX's which involves me removing the IP address of the MUX and removing it from its unique element manager, TAM work, card infill and hybrid MUX conversions which involves me upgrading legacy MUX's to hybrid.

  • I have learnt new skills as well as developing existing ones such as MS office.

  • I do enjoy this apprentice programme greatly

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BT?
  • With this apprentice it makes me feel like I am full employee in the programme as I learn new skills and improve my confidence.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • it is organised by the structure at first was not as structured as I thought it would have been. the induction was ok but we only got the questions answered on the last day which was impractical in my opinion. The training from my team members was very good, I always have a study day in the week to do my NVQ work,

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receiver a good amount of support from my apprentice coach as if I have a problem I send an email and he helps me with any problems I have.

  • A good amount of support as I receive guidance with any problems that I have in the day.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It meets my costs well as I don't spend much to get to work and the money for my age is good and the longer im here the more it will improve.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes there is such as company events but some for me a too far away and cost a little bit too much such as train tickets for London and back and it would take a long time for me to get back from there as I catch a bus that comes every hour.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it would allow them to improve their skills from a technological aspect.

  • Take opportunities.
