  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am part of a IT security team, my main role is to ensure that all of the applications used within BT are compliant to BTs regulations and are kept safe so that they are protected from being hacked into.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills, from functional ones such as how to use different computer skills. I have also developed my people skills, I am much better at being able to speak to others etc.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme that I am on very much, i enjoy the involvement that I have at the company and i get the opportunity to do new things as and when i want to do them.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BT?
  • I feel that I am a very valuable member of my team, i now have my own specific jobs that i do and i have built a great relationship with the people that i work with every single day.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very organised, I know exactly what to do and when to do it, I receive training when i need it. I get the support that I need when ever i find myself stuck with something.

  • Plenty! training is suggested when needed and as i do different job roles i am told about new training opportunities which will help me to further develop my skills.

  • Plenty! support is given when needed and as i do different job roles i am told about new training opportunities which will help me to further develop my skills.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I get paid more than enough, i am able to pay for the rent that i have at home, cover the costs of running my car, make monthly savings and even a bit to spare to treat myself.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, we are given the opportunity to do lots of different volunteering activities outside of work. There is events such as going into schools and talking to the students about what we get up too etc...

  • 9. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • BT is an amazing place to work with many opportunities to develop your skills, you can go as far as you want to and all of the people that I work alongside are great to be around.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • Write a good CV, be as confident as you can when you attend your assessment day and most importantly just be yourself and tell the truth.
