  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • So far with my apprenticeships I have spent all my time in college studying before actually going into work but has been a good learning experience. With plenty of work to do you are kept busy thought your time at college.

  • over my time at college I have learnt many skills both practical and theoretical in many different areas. it has also been a good place to expand skills I already had.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • so far the programme has been exciting at college learning what I will do at work. excited to get into work and start putting the skills I've learned into practice.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by SSE?
  • in the apprenticeships as we are at college we have not had much contact with the company out with our learning developer but have been made feel welcome into the company as far as had the opportunity.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the programme is structured well as you get to complete the college course before going into the workplace. it would be helpful to get more access to the work during the time at college as to get an understanding of the work you will be doing

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • you revive an adequate amount of training from your provider as he is always available to give help when needed and will try his best to get the help you need.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • whilst at college I don't require much assistance from the employer. At college any assistance required comes from college staff.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Due to being away at college my employer reduces the costs as much as possible for our time and since we spend little time at home reduces the amount of money spent. Due to this the salary can go further.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • since I am at college i dont get much chance to get involved outside of work further along in my apprenticeships when in work their should be more opportunities.

  • 9. Would you recommend SSE to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They are a good employer and offer a lot of benefits and try everything they can to help apprentices get the the help they need to complete their work. They are also trying to provide people with careers.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to SSE?
  • When applying to SSE remain patient as the application process is long due to the amount of applicants. If succesful they will quickly try to sort everything out for you in terms of equipment, training and getting you set up for work.
