  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as an analyst for Accenture, meaning that I take on a variety of roles on two different projects, each spanning 4 months. I have held PMO responsibilities, organised recruitment and onboarding for the team, as well as roles which have requred a technical understanding of the project.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • PMO, training in excel and office. How to conduct yourself in a professional environment. Email writing. Writing of official documents. Presentation skills. Interview technique.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Great social side to the programme- regular intern socials as well as many Accenture societies you can get involved with. Company culture is great- both my managers have been keen to help and teach me when they can. Work is engaging and you are given more responsibility than I expected as an intern!

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Accenture?
  • Not just treated as someone to make coffee. Given a real level of responsibility and the opportunity to engage as part of the team with challenging and often unfamiliar areas of work which your team will be happy to help you through!

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The week of induction sounds too little but is actually sufficient- you receive training in excel for those who havent used it in a while, as well as training on conduct in the business place, how to interact with others and communicate effectively. Dave, Fran and the graduate recruitment team are very helpful and will get back to you promptly if you encounter any difficulties along the way.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We have had a few training events throughout the internship- breakfasts, workshops etc. Accenture also have an online training system which you can access if you feel that you want to learn a new skill/improve a skill you already have. There is no real system of 'tutors' as such, except if you have a buddy on your project who will assist you and help with anything they can. I've found managers will do the same whenever they have time, and the graduate recruitment team are always happy to help if you contact them with a query.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Managers are busy but I have found still have had a lot of time for me. On both of my projects I've been lucky enough to have a helpful team around me who I can ask when I encounter unfamiliar material etc. Managers are open and expect you to take on a fairly high level of responsibility.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Living costs in london are obviously very high, but the accenture wage allows you to live comfortably without struggling for cash within reason- keep an eye on your outgoings! I've had enough for rent/food/travel for 8 months plus I've been able to save travelling abroad this summer- perfect!

    9/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Lots of societies which employees can get involved in. Regular socials and the opportunity to get together with your work team/fellow intens.

    9/10

  • 9. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Great people, and a great internship- I haven't once had to make the coffe involuntarily! Accenture seem to be a company who value their employees .

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Read up on Accenture's values and how they operate. Find out a bit about what technologies they regularly use to resolve issues etc.
