  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role at morrisons was varied however on a daily basis I was introduced to a different member of staff. I also did daily jobs such as cleaning the store, stocking the shelves and also helping out at the customer service desk. I learnt new skills or improved on skills every day too.

  • I really enjoyed my programme. I think it was worthwhile and I also received help from the employees in the store and my manager too. I think the work experience was very interesting and I would definitely like to work for Morrison's again. It helped me improve skills and add experience in there to my CV.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My work experience was fairly well organised as I was given different jobs which were varied and needed different skill sets for. I was also trained by various staff members and my manager had organised different weeks for different jobs therefore a plan was definitely put in place for me and used during my time there.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I received a lot of work from my training provider, I was given lots of information about the company and I was also given information on various job opportunities in my specific store and also other stores in the local area. My training provider also supported me with any problems I had during my work experience placement.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer wasn't around too much during my work experience however I did see them on occasion and they always asked how I was getting on and how I felt I was looked after during my work experience. They also took an interest what my future priorities were and if I would apply for a job in the store soon after I finished school or as a part time job.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • As I was in work experience I was not paid for this working period. I was given information and booklets about being an employee of Morrison's and also the payscales that come with different levels of work and jobs within the stores too. I think that these pay scales are reasonable and respectable for the work.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Within morrisons I have been told that employees are encouraged to do out of work jobs and given opportunities to experience different store work in a different location as well as given the chance to help out in the local area helping out with charities and local schools and generally improve the community.

  • 9. Would you recommend Morrisons to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I really enjoyed working at Morrison's I think the work experience was useful and I definitely think in the future I would consider a job like this as I already have the experience under my belt. I think the job is fairly straightforward and I would also recommend the experience if people were thinking of working in similar store environments.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Morrisons?
  • I would say to go in and ask your local store if any jobs were available and if not then ask if you could apply for work experience and show motivation towards wanting to work there and gain new skills and improve existing skills you have too. I would say to be yourself and show you care for the company too.
