Business Administration Apprenticeship. Rotation between Customer Services, Wood Buying and Purchasing. Working with the internal computer systems such as SAP and CRM. Creating orders, delivery notes and speaking to customers and suppliers on the phone. Using excel and other Microsoft Office programmes. Completing extra projects such as organising internal fitness challenges.
Business Administration NVQ Level 3. Training on how the three different departments operate. Gaining skills such as confidence over the telephone, working with colleagues and working efficiently yet accurately.
I enjoyed the work and loved meeting new people throughout the organisation. There were some quiet points during the programme so more projects may have benefited this. Also the 3 month cycle was a bit short but this has been lengthened for future schemes.
The apprentices were valued throughout the organisation and each department was thankful for all the help that was given.
With my apprenticeship being the first business apprenticeship for EGGER there was some elements which could have been more organised. For example I was meant to complete 3 months training in production planning however this was changed last minute.
The support they gave was really good, they talked me through every step of the assessments and I knew exactly what I needed to do to achieve the requirements. Also I could relate a lot of the assessments back to my day to day work.
A lot of support and help with completing the work. Including writing assessments during work hours.
For an apprenticeship the salary was satisfactory. Because I was living at home at the time and had minimal outgoings this suited my needs.
Yes EGGER offers a number of extra activities such as quiz nights, bowling and charity runs.
Yes
Throughout my time at EGGER they have supported my training and development to the extent I have now completed a degree. They have also given me a lot of opportunities in terms of career progression.
Showing enthusiasm and willingness to progress and develop yourself makes a huge difference in the application process. Also knowing about the background of EGGERS history and their values.
