  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Each year you will have the opportunity to rotate around the main business functions. You will gain a range of responsibilities and interact with people from entry leveled staff to directors of the departments. My first year is in HR dealing with recruitment; working with internal and external individuals. As a student you benefit from one day a week at college where you will be able to focus your time on your studies. You will also be given a college mentor who comes in to observe you college work and ensuring you keep up with the deadlines/workload. As a first year you will also be given a personal mentor, so if you have any questions/ concerns, you are able to approach them and ask for support. Your daily work will involve helping out with the recruitment; supporting interviews, CV and telephone screening, ensuring candidates are prepared and informed of what there interview/day will consist of, attending apprenticeship career events. The role involved many activities and you can always find something else to get involved with.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The team and environment you are surrounded with is the best part about this job. Your are made to feel apart of the team and people within the organization at any level will understand that you are a member of the team but still also training. It an enjoyable company to be apart of and not only do you build strong relationships in work but you then take that out of the work place and build new friendships. Teams also make the effort in doing out of work activities like bubble football and Christmas dinners so its always very social.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The induction and training is very in depth and gives you all the details you need. You are supported throughout your entire time at Vauxhall and the studying is supported by your managers and college mentors. Some days may be a lot busier than others but you will have that in any large organization.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is an average package you'd get from this level of apprenticeship, however you will receive a pay rise each year you're with the organization. Personally the pay is lower than I would like as I have to pay for travel and living costs but for an apprenticeship, its what you'd expect. The location of the company is very good as its close to the train station and also the motorway if you're travelling by car.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

  • 9. Would you recommend Stellantis to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The experience and qualification you will gain from the job.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Stellantis?
  • Make sure to research the company and the program before applying/ coming in for an interview, educate yourself about the course. The application process is where you need to sell yourself so never be vague. The assessment day will consist of a presentation, interviews and group tasks. For the presentation it will always look good to have a prepared powerpoint to show why you'd be a good candidate, your previous education/ work experience. Your hobbies and what you do socially and also what you know about the company and why you'd wish to work for them. If I was able to redo my assessment day I would have definitely done some more research and prepared better.
