  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I worked in Tesco at gallows corner in Romford. I was a customer assistant for all of my time which meant dealing with customers and replenishing stock. My daily tasks included working on the checkout which was quite easy to do and also stocking the shelves with the freshest items and making sure any old items were taking off the shelf of labeled with special tickets.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My work experience was structured well, they had a good process of training and once I was confident enough to do it on my own they let me get on with it. I didn't have any other training only internal.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I didn't have a training provider as such, just on the job training with the staff and managers of the store. The managers organized the training with different members of the team which gave me a good opportunity to meet new people and learn skills that could be useful in other jobs.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It was work experience so I did not receive any payment, but it was worth it for the experience alone! • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I read and saw leaflets about other activities outside of work but PI didn't really get involved with any. There seemed to be a lot of team building and there was also always talks of people going out together after work so it seems like a very socialable place which seemed nice. There aren't many things to do around gallows corner a sa location though as it is just industrial.
