  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Technical Foundation Trainee working for EDF Energy. I have been here for two years and am still unsure as to what I am supposed to do. A typical day for me consists of trying to find work off my colleges.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • There is minimal knowledge transfer from my peers. There is a very lackluster approach to my development. My manager does not regard my opinion when it comes to my development.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • To date I have yet to see any organisation or structure to this scheme. The objective from the company is clear "provide a cheaper alternative to the graduate scheme" however apart from that, it is clear that minimal thought has been put into the scheme.

  • To date I have yet to hear of any opportunities outside of work.

    1/10

  • 9. Would you recommend EDF to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would not want to be responsible for anyone I know going through the same experience.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EDF?
  • I would recommend applicant consider choosing this company carefully and check what it's competitors have to offer.
