  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Team manager to step into the role of a store manager when they are not there. My job involves running a store and making sure it's safe and legal for both colleagues and customers. Delegating job rolls and ensuring the staff work as a team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to think about situations before I speak. I've also learnt to delegate jobs more across the team so that everyone gains experience and confidence. I've also learnt a lot about my body language and how it plays an important roll with staff and customers.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I've found the programme really interesting as it breaks your learning down into developing myself but also helping me to develop others. I always come away from the sessions feeling like I've learnt loads. I like that the learn direct sessions get everyone involved too as I'm one that usually sits quiet.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Co-op?
  • I feel very valued at the co-op. This is such an amazing programme to be a part of.

    7/10

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As we are the first to do this programe, I feltvat first it was very structured and organised but when it comes to the learn direct coaches they are very unreliable as I've had 3 so far this year alone. This in return makes me feel I don't have much support with my work.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • As answered in the previous question. I've had 3 trainers this year alone and don't feel I have the support I need. I have now decided to get support within my co-op patch as without this it knocks my confidence.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I don't receive any support from my manager. Unfortunately as we are in a small store we work alternative shifts and days and in reality I will never be able to have the time without being interrupted in the work place. Therefore I have seeked help elsewhere within the company.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I think the salary is reasonable and I am happy with my salary. The salary meets what I need in life.

    7/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I don't know. This is something I've never looked into. I'm happy where I work and don't plan on ever leaving.

    4/10

  • 9. Would you recommend Co-op to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Everyone is treated equal within the co-op. I've always enjoyed working for the co-op.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Co-op?
  • Be flexible with what hours you can do and the more hours you will get. The more your willing to put in the better your career will be. If that is something you want you also have to be self motivated too but you will get all the support you will need.
