  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Work Coach, this involves seeing customers on three different benefits. I offer help and support to all customers I see as all customers have different needs. My main role is to get people back into employment. This is very rewarding but can also be difficult.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In the beginning we had a few months to settle into our job roles before starting any studying and assignments. My induction was held in London over 2 days, I really enjoyed working with others and meeting new people. I have allocated 2 half days a month to study. I have support from my tutor, staff and manager when required.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I currently live at home and I am looking to move out. As a 20 year old, I think I am on a good wage. When I move out, I want to be on a higher wage. • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Civil Service?
  • The process is really long, I applied in February and started in September 2015. My interview was held in London. I was notified on Friday that I needed to be there for the following Monday. The interview was a 6 hour process, a group task, a written task and a interview infront of a panel (2 people). Practise practise practise STAR and WHO model for competencies. Local job centres might be running competency workshop, someone could look over these for you.
