  • - Support Consultant - Data Handling, Admin Support, Communications, Info-Graphics, Risk Management, Business Plan Management, Business continuity support, project management - Line manager, Senior managers within the team, other apprentices - Other apprentices - managing various documents and spreadsheets, collating, formatting and sending data, communications, Project management - Project for improving communications sent out in HR , maintaining list of stakeholders and reviewing feedback and acting upon it.

  • Developed Business skills through the qualifications Developed speaking and engaging skills through careers fairs and networking developed computer skills developed professional Office skills, Email, Meetings, HR

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • New environment, very welcoming, very nice team, the work I have been doing was a great start for me, adjusting to the culture from previous jobs. better than expectations.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Civil Service?
  • I feel valued, I am always given excellent feedback and ways to improve. my line manager and entire team (including senior managers)let me know I am appreciated.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Training provider was not organised. very unorganised at the beginning of the programme. poor training for majority of the programme, only resolving issues months before the scheme finishes. Many tutors seemed poorly trained and then left the business un announced, assignments went unmarked up until now. however new tutors are making an effort and know what they are doing.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Up until now support was minimal and poor. Support is very good now from new tutors.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support received from team and manager in terms of allowing time to study and support with assignments. always offering help if needed.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • As I still live at home and do not drive, the salary works well, however if I was to move out and begin to drive, I would need a higher salary.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Lots of Apprenticeship events to engage with students, teachers and parents. opportunities to travel around the country to other offices in my organisation to meet and work with other teams. shadowing is encouraged

  • 9. Would you recommend Civil Service to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have already recommended the civil service to many friends and 2 are now working on the apprenticeship. it is a great place to work, great opportunities, experience, job security and pay


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Civil Service?
  • Show a real interest, do some background reading, show drive and ambition, be patient, be confident but not too over powering to others in a group discussion, encourage others
