As a Trainee Cost Consultant, I assist with completing cost reports, cost plans, change control forms all essential in tracking the costs in a project. I am client based, therefore I attend client meetings, design team meetings and regularly catch up with my line manager to track my progress and get help with anything needed.
I have learnt a huge amount of new skills and have massively developed my confidence. Training has assisted in the way I present myself, with regards to my attire, in meetings and simply in email responses. I am learning about all elements in construction and how they effect my role.
All elements are great. My team have really welcomed me and have made an effort to let me know that if I need help, just to ask. The company is really supportive as well; again if I need help, all I need to do is ask. The apprenticeship has exceeded my expectations - again with regards to the level of support provided.
I feel like I am a real part of the team, not just a Trainee which is what I was expecting to feel like. I am very involved with the projects I am on and have had feedback that I am doing well.
Some elements could be improved; organization of our rotation is come extremely late and there is still uncertainty about what is happening. The training sessions are well organized, with all members of staff in the hierarchy getting involved which is really helpful. I do feel that with regards to the university that we are attending, the organization is quite poor - in our induction day, we were given the complete wrong information as to where we had to go. Other events similar to this have happened which is quite poor.
A good amount - we are always told at the end of training sessions that if we need help, just to send and email and they will try to help.
A good amount - if we have any questions, they eventually get answered and are always answered in depth that is really helpful.(HR)
Very well, however, I still live at home, but am hoping to move out soon and I feel that money may be a problem - London is very expensive.
Yes. We are encourage to use our volunteering day to give back to the community. There are team socials organized which gives the opportunity for team building and networking.
Yes
You are welcomed from the start and the company really want what is in your best interest and want you to excel.
Don't be afraid to ask questions - no question is stupid! Even with regards to the application process.
