  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am supporting Relationship Managers/ Assistant relationship managers in my office. I have to do many different daily tasks e.g postal duties, answering queries from customers, customer meetings.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to manage my time a lot better as staying organised is so important. Also I have learnt a lot through the regular reading and my BPP course.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy it very much. The team I work with are all great and always willing to help. I am also always kept very busy so my days seem to go very quickly and I am never bored.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by NatWest?
  • I do feel valued by RBS as I always am being appreciated by managers and think of me during meetings as assign me in particular work e.g prospecting for new business.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised the VLE and your individual learning plan is great as it is a layed out timetable which is separated in steps and keeps you on your toes.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • As much support as you require as obviously your colleges are going ot know a lot about the topics and can help much you also have an assessor who can walk you through any stage.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My line manager and my other employees know about my studies and want me to work towards them as a priority. I sit next to an ARM who is very experienced and answers any questions I may have.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Travel meets my costs excellently. I havea lot of disposable income for someone my age at the end of every month even after travel and other expenses.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • YEs there are lots of networking events and other clubs which RBS offers. The networking events are a great way to get your name out there and stand out.

  • 9. Would you recommend NatWest to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I often tell my friends to apply for the apprenticeship. I believe the busy days makes me enjoy my job very much. The prospects at the end of my career are also really motivational.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • In interviews write down every good thing you can think of and learn them to use as examples during the interviews. Find the back office manual. Go to all the networking events and get your name out there.
