  • 4. How valued do you feel by 3M UK?
  • I get a lot of praise from my immediate team where it is needed and I feel that I am a well valued and liked member of my team. Sometimes however you do feel like a small-fish due the enormous size of the company. If you are ever trying to speak to people higher in the company you can feel a little stranded. Part and parcel of working in a huge conglomerate!

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Honestly, the pay is not great and I do feel like I'm slightly hard done by in regards to the job I do being equal to all that of my peers which are on at least double what I earn. I travel about 40 minutes a day to work so I spend quite a lot on petrol but I just about manage to scratch even. Nothing I'm not used to from my previous part-time job!

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are lots of opportunities outside work for Sports and social organising. I imagine that there are a lot of other schemes and initiatives outside of work but unfortunately I do not concern myself with those as I am lazy :( and I live far away to participate in a few of them!

  • 9. Would you recommend 3M UK to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a nice place to work and everyone is very warm and receiving. They treat their staff fairly and the customs of 3M is a nice one. It's informal where it needs to be and serious where not. It leads to a nice working environment

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to 3M UK?
  • I would tell them to do there research as there is a whole world of 3M outside that 99% of people don't know about. If the interviewers were to hear some of this then they will know that the interviewee has done his/her research on the company and has an active interest
