  • Cross functional degree apprentice at Cisco. My role involves transitioning around business departments to identify my strengths m, weaknesses and were I best add value.

  • I have learnt a vast array of new skills and developed existing skills, inclusive of presenting methods, communication, technical Networking (CCNA)

  • I enjoy my programme very much, particular having such noticeable progression and future prospects

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Cisco?
  • Very valued. Cisco makes it clear that the business needs young talent to continue its success in the future. We are seen as inivators, presenting fresh and relevant ideas to the organisation.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very comprehensive. Timelines, internal and external training provided and scheduled, 3 & 6 month business department rotations

  • Ample support from 1-2-1 progression meetings, virtual and inperson training

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A great amount, we have a two dedicated apprenticeship managers on hand to help us at all times. Further to this we have department managers, rotation leads and a culture were anybody is willing to help:

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Salary is both competitive and reasonable considering the development and opportunities the company is providing, however, apprenticeships are generally difficult for individuals with high expenditures such as rent when not living at home.

  • Yes, from rotation department outgoings, to apprentice get togethers and charitable opportunities

  • Yes

  • The culture, the great opportunities, the continuous education and the employers genuine interest in your success


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cisco?
  • Work hard and efficiently, the apprentice requires an individual to be self driven and motivated. The more you put in, the more you'll get out.
