  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • We work to provide a support function to the segment that we work in. This can include, but is not limited to, carrying out due diligence, putting reports together, compiling materials for client meetings. As such we have to interact with a wide range of people not only on our floor but throughout the whole company.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • We all have to take on a wide range of responsibilities when performing our duties, all of which are new to us, such as time management communication and much more specifically concerning our professional courses.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I always enjoy coming into work every day because of the wide array of challenged that we face every day, I also enjoy the interaction with the people that I work with.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by UBS?
  • I do, I feel as though the apprentices are an integral part of how the whole team works, and the people that we work for do make it known to us how much they appreciate our work.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is very well organized with the external providers, and we have regular communication with them to ensure that we are performing to the best of out ability.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We have regular contact with our training providers and we have contact points that we can use if we need more support.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • UBS always makes sure that we have support, we are assigned a mentor and coach and work closely with our line manager who ensures that we always know what we are doing.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Very well, I have few overheads that I need to cover which means that money I do earn can be spent or saved however I see fit, I do not regularly feel as though I don't have enough money.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • We have the opportunity to do as much work with companies outside work as we wish, and this includes working with charities that UBS supports, or volunteering for external events.

  • 9. Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It gives a great feel of what it is like to work in a serious professional environment whilst at the same time not seeming intimidating.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • To be as honest as possible when interviewing and pay close attention to what the speaker on the interview days have to say.
