  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Front office assistance with the preparation and processing of documents. This involves communicating with different teams along the process chain. Daily interactions with all staff members on the floor. Responsible for time management of tasks and prioritization of projects and important client documents. Daily tasks include due diligence checks on clients and Financial Intermediaries, client review documents and packs, as well as client static updates - ranging from contact detail updates to Portfolio Openings and Asset Transfers (among many others).

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Banking qualifications are provided, and this is an introduction to Finance comprising of 3 written examinations and course-work. Once passed the opportunity is there to further our education. Skills learned include time management, varying methods of communication and the adaption to the corporate world in general.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoying working as part of a team and being valued by my colleagues and bosses alike. The culture at UBS is extremely supportive and recognises hard work and achievements. It is an honour to work for UBS.

  • I feel that my hard work is recognized and valued at UBS.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured - with 2 day revision classes for each exam as well as a study day each week.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • BPP provide us with a great deal of support having provides us with an apprenticeship manager and a general email address for general queries.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Line manager support is very good - with regular one-to-one catch up sessions looking at progress.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Fairly well, but travel does take up a high percentage of my salary (without this high cost I believe the salary is a good starting point on my financial career path)

  • Many events and invitations.

  • Yes

  • UBS is a very enriching place to work - where you will feel supported and valued in your everyday job. It's a great foundation to a successful career in banking.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • Just be yourself on the assessment day and in the interviews and remember university isn't the only option for school leavers.
