  • Asset and configuration Analyst. Updating our asset database - Configuring license discovery agents - system administration - completing tasks from the task ID Working with service desk procurement and configuration management team to get updates

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • ITIL - foundation and service transition I have leant a vast amount about tivoli and service management tools and processes and license management. Having an apprenticeship has helped me feel more professional and adjust to a real working environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My team are great and tha apprenticeship programme/ work is well structured and defines - I feel the companies culture can however be a little old fashioned in comparison to some competitors

  • There is some internal recognition however is can often feel as if you are only a number.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Induction is good however some o the paper work can be a little chaotic. Day to day apprentices are free to get on with project work.

  • Traning is normally available with any reasonable request.

  • There are loads of tools and people willing to help but its up to you to go and find it

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I have been OK as I have been able to live at home while on the apprenticeship. I know it can become very difficult if you are required to move out on this wage.

  • Everything is offered and is there for those who want it. People are always ready to get involved.

  • Yes

  • Lots of opportunity


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
  • Make sure you application is thorough a slept correctly. Give examples of real life situations that show your skills and dont be afraid to show off a little and take credit for your work.
