Smart Energy Meter Expert - Some weeks are spent in the academy in Dartford, getting classroom training and training on dummy set ups with experts in the fields. Other weeks are spent in the field shadowing current meter experts.

I have learned lots of new skills. I now have the MOCOPA qualification and I am taking exams to become Gas Safe in the next week. I had never worked with gas or electric before.

I have met most of the team I will be working with once I am qualified and they are helpful and approachable. I feel valued and despite my lack of experience I have been helped and encouraged throughout.

I feel that British Gas is a good company to work for. Any ideas or help needed has been quickly forthcoming.

The first couple of weeks seemed well organised, but occasionally thing seem to be slightly disorganised. My manager has seemed very unsure of my progression.

My trainer has been very supportive and encouraging. He has always found time to answer any questions I have.

My team that I will be working with have been very supportive, my manager seems more interested in getting results.

I am happy with the salary. It starts low, but increases at various stages throughout training.

Not that I have come across yet, but I imagine there will be once i become a full member of the team.
