  • 4. How valued do you feel by Centrica?
  • Overall quite valued, it's still the honeymoon period and am bedding in but I've had regular contact with many people at different levels within the business.Overall quite valued, it's still the honeymoon period and am bedding in but I've had regular contact with many people at different levels within the business.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Enough to get by. Lots of people on my team are willing to help and overall seem like a good bunch. Coaches on hand to talk you through problems but our patch is quite large so sometimes it takes a while for support to come in a physical manifestation.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Would be nice to have the option to use the company vehicle in my own time and pay towards it so I don't have to run my own car for the sake of 1000 miles a year. Basic pay has been increased but sometimes the productivity bonus is a bit unobtainable.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Unsure what this question relates to as I'm not looking for any other employment at this time. I imagine jobs in the trade would be easier to come by with British gas centrica on my cv but that's got the future and hopefully a long way off.

  • 9. Would you recommend Centrica to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Good company with solid pay and you know where you stand. Some fairly decent benefits and decent starting wage with some tidy overtime payments and optional extra work days to boost income. I actually refereed a friend to join and not for the £500 I'd get for it as I plan to give it back to him when it gets paid, he doesn't know that yet so it's a nice surprise.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Centrica?
  • Be honest, they're not looking for the complete person who knows everything. They'll teach you so much so you don't need to be a soldering or electrical genius I came with no knowledge and next to no ability and in 19 weeks it's a different me with more skills and experience than I've had from the last 24 years of education and employment
