  • My role is an operations apprentice, on a day-to-day basis I assist people on my placement throughout the factory with their jobs and gain knowledge on different things about the company and various jobs.

  • I have widely developed my soldering skills and team work/independent skills, as well as developing new skills related to the jobs I completed.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it allows me to develop all the time and I get a lot of support and opportunities.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by MBDA?
  • I feel valued within MBDA because we are always involved in different tasks and the managers show their appreciation. also there are always people being nominated for awards.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Quite organised. before starting any 'real' work we undergo a lot of training and there is always support for us if we are stuck.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • a lot, we meet with our training provider every 6-8 weeks to ensure we are on track with everything and are given support when and if needed.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • we are always able to contact our manger and if she isn't available there are numerous people we are able to speak to. I.e. line managers.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I have enough money to pay an direct debits and still have enough to spend on myself and enjoy myself. with me only living 6 miles away my travel costs are quite low.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • yes, there are different events we can go to. for example, recruitment trips and awards evenings.

  • 9. Would you recommend MBDA to a friend?
  • Yes

  • because I feel that for a young person it is a good company to work for because you get treated as an adult.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MBDA?
  • jus to be yourself and speak the truth.
