Carry out general administrative tasks, such as photocopying, processing mail, scanning documents and updating office records. Use Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel. Answer the telephone and liaise with staff, clients, other agencies and members of the public to assist in the delivery and provision of services.

I love working part of a well driven and positive team, the work is never boring it is different every day and I can work closely with the general public which I also enjoy.
I feel valued and appreciated by my team and my manager as I get recognition from them and I am always involved in meetings and tasks as a team.
The programme has been extremely well organised and structured as I have been given so much amazing training and support throughout my 13 months and have always felt able to talk to my colleagues and manager if I needed support.
The college have been really supportive offering me extra support with my maths studies by allowing me to attend extra maths sessions. I felt I could speak to my tutor openly about any worries or anything I was struggling with.
The support from Wealden has been amazing, especially with personal issues and health issues they have been extremely understanding and offered endless help. My manager has also been extremely understanding and I feel I can speak to him about anything.
The salary is testing as it is the lowest salary package I have had with a job but the help with transport costs from Wealden has been a saviour as that would take 1/3 of my wage each month.
I have joined the freedom leisure gym which is linked to the council so I am making the most of the discount!
Yes
I have learnt so much about working for a council, being in a supportive environment with people who genuinely want to see you do well, being able to take part in different activities and events and be part of making your local area a positive place to be is always rewarding.
Be prepared, research into what a council does, think about what you want to gain from the experience personally. Most of all be yourself!
