  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am currently doing the business apprenticeship scheme at MBDA. Within this apprenticeship you move around many different areas of the business allowing you to get a full overview of what each section does and how they have an impact on one another. In the final year of my apprenticeship I will do a year in MEP where I will then finish my time and work in this area of the business.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship is well structured as you are given a in depth induction to the business and also a lot of training in order to be able to develop you as an individual and to support us in our roles within the business. We also undertake a business degree at Bolton University, which develops our understanding of business as a whole which is very beneficial. However, I feel that the transition between placements could be organised more effectively.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I feel that the salary that we receive is reasonable, however slightly below average in comparison to other apprenticeship schemes at this level. In respect to living costs our apprenticeship breaks down to just above the national minimum wage and therefore you do not have much extra money for social costs, due to paying travel costs and other daily expenses.
