  • I joined the company in early October 2016. My daily roles involve learning on the job to develop my skills within civil engineering. I am based in the structures team and my work can vary from technician drawings on CAD to live work on Revit software.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes definitely. I had a brief idea on how to use software such as CAD but since using it on a daily basis my learning has taken off and I have picked up a lot of new skills within the programme itself.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It is an excellent package. Some apprenticeships don't offer wages like this from a starting point, yet the basic rate for an apprentice within the company exceeds most. Plus, we have an opportunity to buy extras in our own company portal - for example , holidays and travel packages. Yet, each apprentice has the opportunity to receive salary increases as part of good work.

  • Yes without a doubt. As an apprentice I was invited to attend an annual apprentice weekend where I could meet colleagues from around the business and create new links too. It was an excellent opportunity with more things similar happening all the time.
