  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed my program during my time at HPP, I fell that the team work within the departments and the friendships with the people whom I have worked has made the time in the company very enjoyable. the thing that I have most enjoyed is working directly on the race parts as the reason that I chose this path was that I am a huge fan of Formula 1.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • internally there is a lot of support provided by managers and other technicians should you ask for it. there is also support offered by the ex-apprentices who can offer guidance on both the NVQ work but also career progression. however with regards to career progression and any issues that you may have with the college who provided the HNC the HR department have been very lacking leaving the apprentices to sort the problems themselves.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • at the start of the apprenticeship the salary is tight but it is possible to share a flat or a house with one or two other apprentices. the salary rises every 6 months and thus by the third year the salary can meet your costs, however renting a flat or house by yourself is still not really possible in the local are.
