My role is of a DevArch analyst and my daily tasks consist of managing change windows, running production deployments, implementing release management using DevOps and working with the rest of the team in delivering new features for our internal ecommerce store.
I'm working towards the Accenture Agile professional certification and have been involved in a lot of internal training such as Digital Fundamentals and Selenium (Testing) training. I've picked up many skills from managing to collaboration and technical skills such as PHP, Prestashop and programming.
I thoroughly enjoy the programme as we're given a lot of responsibility and support for work. The team is like a second family, providing training and support where required. Accenture is full of opportunities for individuals to get involved in different societies and interest groups and I've recently gotten involved in the Inclusion & Diversity group. The apprenticeship exceeded my expectations and has developed me both personally and as an employee at Accenture.
I regularly receive recognition from my manager/team members when delivering a piece of work or for my contributions. There are performance points and monetary awards which I have received from my manager and a previous senior manager.
As we were the first London apprentices for Accenture, I felt that things changed very often and there was no set path. However a few months in, after more intake of apprentices, I think the programme has a well defined structure so it can focus on providing support to us.
The tutors are fully contactable and all material for a specific module is available online for us to study. I enjoy the sessions where we visit the training provider offices for face to face sessions as its a lot more beneficial and helpful towards assignments and assessments.
Overall support such as time for studying and understanding that you're an apprentice lacking an elite set of skills is great. We have careers counsellors to help us in developing our career path and equipping us with ideas to improve skills and development areas.
Working in the city can be very expensive, especially living in London so I'd say the salary just about meets my needs but that may be because I live at home with my parents.
There are many social events available outside of work but there should me some more 'apprentice-centric' as the apprentice-base is growing so its harder for some apprentices to meet newer ones.
