  • Role on a day-to-day basis involves working alongside the Relationship Managers and their customers, providing support and assistance to both and assisting in helping towards targets and responsibilities for the RMs

  • Learnt new skills in terms of the job role in terms of the financial side of the job. Developed existing skills such as communication and IT skills and customer service skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Enjoy the apprenticeship programme as I feel as if I have learnt the job and the role relatively quickly, gaining responsibilities of the ARM role quickly and working closely with customers and relationship managers to enhance this and further learn the role. Enjoyed the programme in terms of the qualifications, found these useful in terms of the job role and useful in terms of proving me with background information on banking and the financial services sector.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by NatWest?
  • I feel very much valued by NatWest as I have been giving responsibility fairly quickly, picking up the ARM role fairly soon after joining the organisation and starting the apprenticeship programme. Had positive feedback throughout the programme from my BPP mentor and line manager and also been supported by both in terms of helping me develop in my role.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • programme is fairly well structured in terms of the job role, could of been more useful to have a structure and plan as to where to start and an order in terms of learning the various tasks and responsibilities. BPP side of the apprenticeship in terms of the qualifications is very well organised and structured - timetable given in the beginning and classes/calls organised and booked ahead in advance.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Receive a lot of support from BPP, assessor has provided great support in terms of helping me in the job role and with my assignments, reviewing these and talking through the amendments with me to help me complete and pass the course. Also a general mailbox which responds fairly quickly with any queries.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Receive a lot of support from my employer, line manager and colleagues supported me greatly in terms of helping me in the job role and learning the job. Also been supported greatly in terms of the qualifications, time provided to revise and complete the units and also been provided with support from shadowing other teams to support me and help me learn and understand the job better.

  • salary and benefits meets my costs well. Costs involved in the job and the role are all met.

  • lots of opportunities inside and outside of work to enhance my skills and knowledge. all opportunities are highlighted at work and you are encouraged to look at these and take them up.

  • Yes

  • great place to work and lots to learn. Job enhances your skills and knowledge greatly. Job is also very varied. Qualifications are really beneficial and there is lots of opportunities to take on more qualifications and career opportunities to move to a different area of the bank or progress in the current area.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • Research the job role, responsibilities first hand. Look at all the opportunities and roles available. Also do research on the company and the sector first.
