Management of Request Desk ticketing system administration. Assisting in supervision of the on-site Customer Innovation Centre. Responding to branding and merchandise queries. Management of internal events and loaning of branding exhibition equipment.
Expanded my knowledge of spreadsheet software, developed my administration capabilities and given me better and more effective communication and people skills
I very much enjoy the company culture and love the team I work in, it surpassed my expectations that I had before I joined.
I feel like 3M treat me as though I am a full-time employee and trust me with responsibilities I wouldn't have expected to be given to an apprentice
The structure and organisation is satisfactory, no hitches to speak of and everything seems to be progressing smoothly.
My training provider is exceptionally helpful with regard to my coursework and other assessments.
The management structure is very cohesive and I feel like I can go to anyone with any problems or queries I might have
At present I am still living at home so the salary is sufficient. However it does feel a little dispiriting when I know I do as much work as some others in the organisation, but they receive substantially bigger paychecks. I.e. Industrial Placement students on placement years from their universities earn 3-5 thousand pounds more than I do per year. It's not a major problem but I feel like since the workload I have is one of a full-time employee I am deserving of perhaps a little more - but equally I guess part of it goes towards the cost of the qualification so I'm not massively fussed
My role doesn't really provide me the opportunity to attend external events - but I don't mind that. There are definitely opportunities to volunteer in the local community etc, but I don't live in the local area so it's never been something I've considered doing, there's also the Bracknell Sports and Social Club which is promoted within the workplace, but again I don't live locally so I've never paid it much heed.
Yes
Friendly working atmosphere and great diversity of workforce and opportunities within the company.
Be open and honest, work hard but don't forget to take a break - even your bosses are real people and will be just as willing to take 5 and go get a coffee as you!
