Very valued as I am often asked to come in and work extra as I am trusted to follow the main care role
My programme is well structured as I know everything that is needed of me and what order to do it. I'm provided with materials to help progress.
I am supported in every way including online support to look at policies and colleagues help answer questions.managers answer concerns and my tutor helps re assure me
My managers help me in every way possible and often provide meetings to ask any problems I have.
My apprentice salary was very low for the work I did but I was able to increase it to the minimum care wage as I essentially did the job of a carer
I can now get any care role at hospitals or homes and can continue to improve and go up the career ladder
Yes
I've done well with my career by working there and I believe others can also do so as there are lots of opportunities
Consider the pay when you start as at first it may not seem an issue. Also consider whether you are able to provide personal care as you will have to cope with bodily fluids and emotional problems that could arise
