I am a trainee- construction technician at morgan sandal. My role involves working closely with others in a site team to make the job a success. On a day to day basis I my role involves basic site organisation, Safety audits, Quality assurance, Inductions, Site diaries and other different aspects of my role.
Yes, When I started my apprenticeship with morgan sindall I had little to no knowledge of the construction industry. I now have knowledge around all trades on site but I know I still have a lot to learn. I am currently 1 year and 6 months in to a HNC in construction management and I'm also about to complete my SVQ level 3 in engineering operations. Morgan Sindall have also put me through a lot of internal training courses to do with safety and quality as well as putting me through my first aid.
I really enjoy the programme that I am currently on. I enjoy the challenges it brings on a daily basis. The team I work around are great for helping me to learn which makes this programme so much better. Overall I have enjoyed my apprenticeship with Morgan sindall.
I feel very valued by the site team I work around. Even though they know I am still learning their are always happy to give me new tasks which helps my learning.
My programme is well organised from day one on the induction we have known what will be involved in the programme. We were also given buddys with in morgan sindall which was the graduates who had just finished university.
I get support on a daily basis from the team around me. Any question which I am not sure about all members of the team are happy to take the time to answer the questions and show me how something is done correctly.
I feel I receive a lot of support from my employer as and when I need it. I know we have a HR team I can contact regarding any problems I have as well as having a mentor who I can also contact with any problems I have got.
My salary is great and covers all costs.
Yes Morgan sindall runs a lot of community benefit projects in which we are invited to attend weather that be school visits or work carousels.
