  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Im an apprentice at Fidelity International currently training to become a Business Analyst. Im involved in various projects when I am either the lead BA (for smaller projects/enhancements) or a supporting BA (in bigger projects). Im responsible for hosting various meetings to gather information and also write requirements from the business and translate them into more technical detail for the developers and testers.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of new skills, such as how to program in various languages, ive also learnt better social skills and how to work in a team more effectively. With the new skills ive learnt I just need to fine tune them so I can further progress in my role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I feel that I have enjoyed the programme so far, in my specific job role I do become stressed however this makes me more focused and I am able to reach my goals quicker and to a better degree if I am stressed.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Fidelity International?
  • I have been given a fair amount of responsibility here at Fidelity which is rewarding, I feel that I am valued as any other employee of Fidelity and people are always willing to give advice or a helping hand in areas I have no knowledge of.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured with lots of meetings and guidance, in my particular role it was a little slow starting in finding some projects I could have a go at, however things quickly picked up.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The training provider held very good offsite courses where I learnt various programming languages, the exams also were thorough and tested your knowledge. We have only recently changed our training provider to gather even better quality of training and be able to provide training for a wider range of roles. There are also tutors who come to you to with coursework as well for you to complete.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer gives me the opportunity to go on various training courses to further and better my knowledge. All the employees here at Fidelity are always helpful to explain something you don't know and give you a helping hand out in the right direction.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Fidelity pays its employees very well, including apprentices. The salary is very good and covers all the costs I have currently in my life. There are also many employee benefits that we can take advantage of.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are various fitness classes that employees can attend at lunchtime, also football teams made from employees. There are many opportunities for everyone to get involved in events around the company.

  • 9. Would you recommend Fidelity International to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It offers a fantastic opportunity to start a career with the training and experience that matters and is essential in todays organisations. The salary is fantastic including all the benefits. Finally the company is very well know and the employees are all very friendly and willing to help out in any way they possibly can.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fidelity International?
  • no question is a stupid question will be reinforced into you. Make sure you learn about the systems early on and in as much detail as possible as this will help you out majorly for moving forward with Fidelity.
