Account Manager/ broker trainee Review

I am an account manager trainee/ broker trainee and i really enjoy what i do. I use the Aon system to create slips and hand these to the brokers to get signed. Once these are signed, we then process this in the system. If there is an endorsement which needs to be created and signed, i will also do this and send this out to our clients. I also draw up evidence of covers which are sent ot our client and confirms that we have managed this account and the policy is up and running. I also go along with brokers to Lloyds and shadow the broker side to the job. I have also are able to see how the underwriter side of Insurance works, as i have the chance to also shadow them when i go to Lloyd's, with one of the brokers in my team. I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship.

I have developed my time management and my organisation skills as i do use these on a day to day basis. I also work in a team everyday, which i also enjoy as i feel this is a great way to get to know new people and to be able to be trusted to help if other colleagues need it.

I have met a huge amount of new people and have created some very strong relationships at work. I enjoy the programme because i am eager to learn and am very intrigued to learn more about the Insurance industry. Many of my colleagues who i work with on a daily basis or willing to help and train me up, especially my manager. I learn something new everyday and enjoy being able to understand and complete tasks to a high standard.

I feel very valued by Aon as, as a apprentices we are treated exceptionally well. Every apprentice starting this year, was trained for two weeks before starting, in a business hotel. We were all well fed and well looked after. Aon do this to help their apprentices get a head start when they actually start in the job roles.

The programme is very well sttructured and organised as every few weeks us apprentices have a workshop to help us learn the CII. Currently, i am learning the IF1. The skills company come into our work office and teach us everything we need to know before the exam. The programme is also well structured as, instead of just either learning the CII or just training in our specific job roles, we learn AND train at the same time.

We recieve a lot of support from Aon and the Skills Company. I am continuously sent past papers which i complete and the skills company mark. This is a way of understanding which, specific areas i need to revise more before taking my exam. As previously stated, we recieve a lot of support as we are lucky enough to have a learning workshop every few weeks.

I recieve a lot of support from Aon, my team and my manager. Any question which is releveant, i have clearly answered for me by my manager which is extremely helpful. You are never made to feel like your question is silly, as most of the time it isnt. I recieve a lot of support in my job role i am currently in, i also recieve a lot of support regarding different areas of the business. I have spent a day learning about claims also.

My salaray package meets my cost well. I feel that my pay is suitable for this age and i am extremely grateful we are offered this amount. I am excited to progress as an apprentice but for now, this salary does meet my costs well. The salary we recieve does treat me well each month.

There are not that many Insurance apprenticeships around for brokering. Although there are a few apprenticeships in this area, they tend not to have a suitable salary. I found this when i was applying for an apprenticehsip, there werent many work experience/workshops days in Insurance for my age group. Although through Aon, i have many mor eopportunities to trai n further within this industry.

It is a very exciting industry to work in, and Aon as a company does treat its apprentices and employees very well. Insurance is a growing industry and this is very exciting for my age group. I definitely would recommend Aon to a friend as Aon has really help develop certain skills and intrigue me further to acheive my goals. I would 100% recommend Aon to a friend.

I would tell others to be themselves and have a geniune interest in this Industry. You need to be able to learn sufficently and work as a team. Be yourself as its clear if you arent acting as you normally would, never be false. Aon love that their employees are motivated and enthusiastic about working for this company! Work hard, and appreciate the opportunities that this apprentice offers you.
