I work within the OTM Product Owner Team - this is an application that internal users use to manage, allocate, and perform actions on tasks for their day-to-day jobs.
I have developed understanding of many different aspects of the bank by making use of the talks that go on around the site. As well as learning and training within my role through the use of courses supplied which allows me to understand the agile approach my team use.
I thoroughly enjoy the apprenticeship as a whole, the Bournemouth schools programme are always there in a time of need, check up on how we are settling on a regular basis and will always make the time for us. The apprentices are very close which makes settling into the work environment easier.
The opportunity for recognition is wide within my role as I deal with internal colleagues all day every day to ensure they have an easy, manageable work flow.
We had a two week induction period in preparation before starting our roles it inc. the do's and don'ts, the basics of the bank, team building and the flow of the programme across the 18 months. The materials given to us are very useful and clear to understand.
Our training provider will stop and start within our lectures every time one of us do not understand, they provide their email address at the end of each session and always ensure a recording of the live lecture is up the following day to recap.
The support from my mentor is great, she is always there when I'm stuck or if I need a reminder or general chat with any concerns I have.
I currently live at home so do not pay as much as others may have to. My salary is very suitable for me, especially considering we get a qualification with it.
There are always events going on that the programme encourage us to get involved in. We have already done many and still have more to come such as charity cycles, London trips to the bank, and competitive events.
Yes
I have enjoyed my time as an apprentice for JP Morgan and have made many new friends that will be for life. It has opened up many doors for me and has started off my career path.
The most key aspect all applicants should really focus on is being themselves. The Bournemouth Schools Programme love individuals with personality and show their commitment.
