  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • i am an SVO technician. I spend my day modifying specialist vehicles to fit customer requirements. I work within a team to build a car up and the roles are divided equally within the team.

  • i have learnt lots of new skills since starting Jaguar land rover.I have gained an extended diploma in automotive engineering as well as receiving hands on experience.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme, i look forward to coming to work everyday and have a passion for what i do. The programme tests me but also gives me confidence in myself.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by JLR?
  • I feel valued significantly by my company. They recognise what we do for them help us achieve and praise us for all the good work we do. There is always help and support when you need it.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that jaguar land rover are well organised with the programme however Warwickshire college have no structure and are definitely not organised at all, i feel big improvements are needed on there part.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive a lot of support and help from my training provider. He is always pushing me to achieve and helping me when i am stuck as well as making sure i'm on on the right tacks with my work.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer gives me great support. They are always opening me up to new opportunities. They always help me when facing a problem. The HR team are great and are quick to respond when you have any queries.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary we are on is more than enough for an apprentice. I can happily pay for my rent and car and still have enough money to save as well as go out and enjoy myself.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many opportunities outside of work. They give you £250 a year to go and do a course or ranting on something of your choice and there is a huge range of things you can do. There is also so many sponsored events you can go to.

  • 9. Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • because its an amazing opportuntiy, you can learn while earning. You also make great friends and you are working within a safe and happy environment. I could think of a better place to work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
  • Make sure you are confident and know where you want to go. You need to have ambition and willingness to learn. An enthusiastic employee who wants to achieve is what there looking for.
