My main two roles are allocating and assigning subnets for the region of EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa) and also giving third line support to internal customer also in the region of EMEA.
As I did not know alot about networking before my apprenticeship, I now have gained knowledge of the required areas of networking that go along side my job.
I am very happy with the work environment that I work within, the people I work along side and I enjoy the opportunity I am getting to work in a global company such as 3M.
I feel highly valued by 3M. I have already gained alot of responsibility within my work and I am always being challenged.
The programme itself is fairly well organised, but as the structure of it has changed this year, they are still developing it in some areas.
I receive a fair amount of support from QA.
I receive alot of support from my employer. I have regular review meetings and the occasional training meeting on things I am unsure of.
The salary is fairly average, it meets my needs at the moment but coming into the near future I would hopefully like to see it rise.
I am involved in the football team through work and play for them every Sunday. Before I started work I had not played for 2 years and now I am back playing aswell as working.
Yes
They are a great employer who look out for their employee's and give you responsibility no matter what level you are.
I would say to anyone applying for 3M, just be yourself and honest through your CV to the interview to your first day. Even though I didn't have the best knowledge of Networking before my apprenticeship, I can now be confident within my work and have learnt so much in a short space of time. Also, make sure you get to know people, cause taking an interest in others goes a long way.
