  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • During the day we do a lot of our assignments for Gen II plus some little bits and pieces in P6 for programme updates and other cost and percentage uploads.

    6/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since starting at Morgan Sindall I have carried on with my Gen II apprenticeship, completed a three day P6 course and done other compulsory courses which are required when starting work for Sellafield.

    8/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the work side of things in planning not so much the mechanical engineering or the ops maintenance due to the job I want to do doesn't really seem like that training is the most relevant compared to others which we could of been enrolled on to.

    7/10

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Morgan Sindall?
  • We don't have any individual work to contribute with so don't really have a huge part to play within the team yet but hopefully after finishing the apprenticeship that will change.

    3/10

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has been a bit muddled up from the beginning because we have been the first years to do it I think by the time the new ones start they will have a better idea of what is needed and run a better course

    3/10

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The course we focus on in Gen II isn't really related to the every day work I do in Albion so our line managers of the person we're buddied up with aren't really any good for helping us out with our course work

    2/10

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We get help whenever we ask for it but a lot of the work we need help with our team don't know the answers because it's a completely different area of work

    5/10

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • we get paid fairly for what we do but doesn't feel like we'll ever move up, at the beginning I think a lot of us thought we were coming to learn as trainee planners but got to be mechanical engineering apprentices instead

    3/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Planning is mainly popular within the ISA but other than Sellafield/ Morgan Sindall and Jacobs there aren't many opportunities out of work in other areas.

    1/10

  • 9. Would you recommend Morgan Sindall to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Cumbria doesn't have many companies as big as Morgan Sindall that can potentially offer careers not just a job. Morgan Sindall seem to be one of the biggest growing companies at the moment .

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Morgan Sindall?
  • Make sure you know the ins and outs of the apprenticeship if that is the road you are going down otherwise the general work in Morgan Sindall is good and enjoyable
