1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

6/10

Up till now I have been full time at Warwickshire College Group (mainly Trident site) and am studying a mix of level 2 foundation competencies and a foundation Degree in Engineering. In my days off I go to plant (for me that is Gaydon JLR). Most of the interactions I have is with fellow apprentices' and staff.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

8/10

Multiple different Level 2 foundation competencies. I have also developed my english and maths skills. I have learnt many things including, Electronic and Electrical Principles, Materials, Automotive Engineering Technologies and others.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

7/10

I do enjoy my programme at this moment. However there are ways it can be improved. Jaguar Land Rover and the College group do not integrate well and the 1st year programme could be improved. This being said the rest of the apprenticeship does not seem to suffer from this problem.

4. How valued do you feel by Jaguar Land Rover?

9/10

I feel valued by Jaguar Land Rover. I feel like I amtreated equally toa full time and fully qualified employee. My plant manager treats us apprentices as true parts of the team and include us fully in all ways.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

8/10

The induction was very good, 1 week at the Ricoh as a business induction. Then a week at the college as a college induction. Then a week at plant as a plant induction. Their is brilliant support at college and the college are very helpful with any problems I may have with studying.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

9/10

We recieve brilliant support from our training provider. We have a college tutor who we bring up any problems we have with, and we also have a Work Based Learning Manager who helps with any issues and tracks your progress when you enter plant full time.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

9/10

Good support, the plant manager is very helpful. The HR team have responded quickly and effectively with any issues I have had meanwhile being at the company. Everyone I have spoke to has had a positive attitude towards supporting me.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

10/10

It meets my costs very well, I have been able to move away from home and rent my own flat, which I am incredibly fortunate to be able to do on a apprentice salary.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

10/10

There are many opportunities outside of work. As an example last month I used the employee learning scheme to help fund my A2 license training. We also get two days a year to participate in corporate and social responsibility events.

9a. Would you recommend Jaguar Land Rover to a friend? *

Yes

9b. Why? *

Due to the great benefits the company has offered me. These include, a great salary, a equally great degree and an interesting job role.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Jaguar Land Rover? *

To simply be you and try your best, try to show all of your strong points and show that you can build on your weak points. Doing Mathematics at A level is essential.
