Every day I go to college and have a lovely day with all my friendly peers and get work done within the time limit whilst still enjoying myself. We get set assignments regularly but they give us plenty of time to complete them.
Yes, I have learnt how to use the lathe and how to create a screwdriver handle which I had to create as part of my assignment. I have also learned how to use a milling machine, how to build an engine, how to create a product by just using hand tools and also how to create parts by using CNC machines.
I'm loving it, not as good as sixth from though (fun wise). I'm learning so much, the learning curve is growing everyday and I have a legitimate reason as to why I'm excited to wake up every morning.
I feel important and valued and feel like I'm an important employee even though I'm one of the youngest apprentices on the course. I don't feel ignored whenever I want to express my opinions.
Very organised, very structured, I'm very impressed how organised the organisation is and how well they cope with a big number of employees.
I receive plenty of support from my training provider as they provide google classrooms where they share all the resources that they may have so that we can have access to them. There are extra support sessions for each subject also.
I get enough support from JLR especially from the JLR managers who are there to keep an eye on us when we are at the college. Whenever I had a problem, I went to them and they created time out of their hours to solve the issue that I had.
Very well. I love the salary that we get because that means I get to live comfortably whilst also being able to save up for a house/car. I live right next to college which is a five minute walk away which is great for me as I don't have to worry about travel costs.
No, that is the only issue I have with the scheme. Because of the long hours and a short lunch time, it is very hard to go outside of college and use the college gym on a different site.
Yes
Great company, great people who will do anything to ensure that you excel at your area of work and are always ready to help whenever you are in a sticky situation.
Relax, and take a deep deep breathe. Try to prepare for the assessment day by using the tools that JLR will provide you and spending a couple of days gaining confidence in yourself being able to talk to a group of people confidently.
