  • Software engineer - I have been involved in a number of projects developing and testing business systems with teams of varying size and skill range

  • I have learned new technical skills such as programming in Java, HTML, SQL and project management.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my company culture however at times I struggled to tie my daily work with the coursework required by my apprenticeship.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by CGI?
  • CGI has been very helpful in finding me work that suits me and I have always had support with such concerns as travel and expenses.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I was disappointed with the level of organisation shown by QA which has left me falling behind with work due to poor communication between QA, CGI and me.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I received decent support while at training courses provided by QA but outside of this it has often been very hard to get the support required to complete my apprenticeship.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received good support from CGI for work and any concerns I had, though I did not consult my manager often regarding my apprenticeship specifically.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • CGI has many compensation schemes in place for travel and location to ensure I am sufficiently reimbursed for any excess expenses as a result of my work.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I am a member of the CGI sports and social club and have attended several of its events in the past year.

  • Yes

  • Keep in touch with your manager regarding the opportunities you wish to seek and take advantage of the social and professional opportunities offered to you.
