As an apprentice I carry out many roles within the working day in superdrug. This can range from serving customers at the till point, pulling stock, facing the shop and answering customer quieries. When promotion change comes around, I help out with the changing of blips and ticket changes. Occasionally I'll also carry out shelf plans and floor walks.
I have learnt a lot about how a company in retail works. I've learnt how to read plans and promotional information. I've became much more confident within myself. This has shown with how comfortable I am with customers.
When I first started I didn't enjoy the course but as I got the hand of things I really started to enjoy being part of the team. I really enjoyed working through my folder and gaining a deeper knowledge of the retail business.
I feel very vavlued by superdrug. I have received so much support while being here.
I believe the programme is very organised especially with my meeting with my assessor. However I think there could be more comunication between the apprententice team and the superdrug team.
I have received a lot of support from my assessor Linda. Both on a personal and work related level.
I have also received a lot of support from superdrug. As I was off sick for 5 weeks and I got support and care from all of my colleagues, especially from my managers (Dave, Lez and Claire) who helped me get back into the swing of things.
Intially the pay rate was pretty poor (£3.50). However since the raise in pay it has made it much easier to manage my out going costs such as petrol, and car insurance.
I definatley believe there are other opportinities which are now more accessible since completing my apprentiship in superdrug.
Yes
I would reccomend superdrug to others for employment as they are very employee orientated. And from a shopping point of view, the beauty card system is great for saving money and there are so many great deals too.
Be yourself and enjoy the fast paced environment.
