I am a sales assistant working in a busy superdrug store working on fragrance and the shop floor. I deal with customers on a day to day basis and enjoy customer service.
I have achieved all my knowledge certificates and working towards achieving my level 2 apprenticeship. I have completed a lot of in house training including customer service and mary gober training.
I have enjoyed the apprenticeship as I have had just the right amount of work to do. I have enjoyed working with the team and being giving new activities to do every day.
I feel valued because I have been given a permanent job by superdrug once my apprenticeship ends. I am given feedback on a day to day basis on my performance by my manager and on a monthly basis by my assessor.
it is well organised and structured as I have been getting a set amount of work and learning to do on a monthly basis. I have action plans which are easy to follow and I have in store training which is detailed on my plan.
I receive lots of support from my training provider by having monthly visits and I can contact her by phone or email if I need her in between visits. during my visits she helps me with any work I have not done by giving me the training I need and communicating with the store team to deliver any in house training I need.
I have received all the training I need through my employer and my team. I always have somebody I can go to with any issues with training or with my qualification. for example james is my mentor for fragrance whereas carly helps me with my apprenticeship.
I think my salary is really good and meets my needs. I have compared different apprenticeship wages from different companies and I think superdrug is one of the best.
I did have contact with another apprentice from another store and I have the HUB which is the company internet where I can communicate with other apprentices from other stores.
