I work within the Contracts and Commercial sector at CGI looking after the subcontracts for the public sector. I am heavily involved in new work and exiting work that has been completed. I daily respond to project questions regarding their project contracts to ensure that they are performing in line with the contract given.
I have built upon my commercial awareness, developed soft skills throughout the managerial roles and have been on several training courses to develop my negotiation and contract writing skills.
I really enjoy working for CGI. they are such a diverse company to be apart of. I love my team, we are all like minded people who get on together really well. The company has exceeded my expectations in allowing me to continually develop my skills.
My manager is openly pleased and shows appreciation for the work I do. I have received a huge level of internal recognition in my role. I am always heavily involved in all aspects of my role and never back out of anything, yet strive to learn from all situations.
The programe is very well structured allowing people with the opportunity to learn in the classroom and immediately apply it in the work place. Support is always only a phone call away and all of my peers constantly help one another out.
The university offers a great level of support if and when required. I have arranged several meetings for over the phone due to not being on campus full time and they have been excellent at adapting to my needs.
My manager continually supports me in my study and we have regular 1-2-1's so she knows the current work load and topics that i am learning about.
The salary is sufficient to my living costs, all travel expenses beyond my usual travel are covered. I have plenty of money to do the things that are important to me.
The company has numerous opportunities if you want to take part. over the past 6 months i have been heading up a huge charity fundraiser competition which has been great fun, exposure and a huge learning experience.
