Working at CGI involves a varied job title and responsibilities. At the moment I have had experience in both Project Management Office and User Requirements. This involves a variety of tasks, mainly gaining experience and knowledge of how CGI operates. CGI offers great interactions with every member at CGI with promoted networking opportunities, alongside other business that will work in collaboration with CGI, furthermore interactions with client engagement. Responsibilities at CGI vary due to the ability to change between projects and roles, however you are immediately included in the team and presented with responsibilities of your role, adding value to the team very early on.
CGI is paying and supporting fully for my degree in Digital and Technology Solutions, which is something I have always wanted to peruse but with financial restrictions. The qualifications gained from CGI are fantastic, with a very desirable degree supported, alongside regularly available training courses on eLearning and further official industry recognised training.
I enjoy the work I am doing within CGI as you can tailor your career and roles to what you want to do, this is because there are many different areas available at CGI. It is all team based, including university so this is another enjoyable aspect of CGI. Security and constant expanding of CGI means there is constantly new roles coming up with leads to further enjoyment. Being able to chose the roles you want to conduct means that there is no reason to not be enjoying the work you are doing.
CGI make you feel very valuable as they are trusting you and constantly helping you not only develop on yourself, but your career and education. Your skills are clearly recognised at CGI, alongside help on offer to develop any new skills that you may want or need.
There are very clear structures to both work and courses supplied. Very clear introductions which take you into new roles or training. CGI also supplies all books or resources that you need to develop.
All support needed whether it is help from another student, graduate or purchasing of books or courses it is available at CGI.
Everyone at CGI is there with a helping hand, with no issue giving it. There are many different people assigned to you upon joining, such as mentors, HR, buddies and general contacts that are there to assist you with problems or questions.
Regular and clear pay rises once on the programme. Wages are very competitive and expenses are also covered- including living cost support.
There are many and regular opportunities outside of work which includes discounted food and events like the theatre. There are also sports events weekly like football and once a year euro competitions where you can travel Europe and represent your base office playing football.
