  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the Consumer Support department and on a day-to-day basis, we complete the work that Retail Voice or RRW send over which means issuing letters, quotes etc to customers involving their pensions.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed on both my confidence and team work skills as in the group I have to make sure I work with each teammate individually and also, I have to make calls to customers regarding medical appointments.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme as I have made a lot of good friends within the apprentice group and also, my team have made me feel very welcome and been so helpful.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by M&G?
  • I feel very valued as if I need help there is always somebody there to support me and also, they have given back to their customers as they arranged Christmas nights away in St Andrews to give back to their employees.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say that the programme is structured now however, when I first started the programme I would of said different as we had no assessor and weren't sure on how to go about completing the work. However, now that we have been assigned an assessor I would say that the programme is running a lot more smoothly.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Our assessor is very helpful and will be sure to email back asap when help is needed on any the assignments/workbooks.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot of support is received from my employer as he is very helpful and also ensures that I feel supported and confident with the work I am given.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • At 17, I think that the salary we are given at Prudential is extremely generous and I cannot complain that it does not meet my costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Outside of work we have had community days within care homes and also, as apprentices we all tend to do things together however, there could be more opportunities available to us for team work activities outside of the workplace.

  • 9. Would you recommend M&G to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend it as everybody in the company is welcoming and helpful and also, although you are at work, you do not feel dread when coming in, also the money you receive is closely budgeted to the hours you work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G?
  • When applying to Prudential be sure that you are confident as that tends to be what they look for in a colleague as they want somebody who will not be afraid to work hard yet challenge if something is not going right.
