My role is apprentice care assistant. This involves me caring for elderly people, particularly residents with dementia. This involves me helping in anyway I can, maybe helping with cleaning, feeding and general caring of the residents.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

10/10

I have learnt many new skills, I have learnt how to complete a care plan for residents. I have learnt how to care for residents with dementia, and have learnt a lot about dementia and what it can lead to.

The organisation and structure of the programme is brilliant. I know where I am at all times, and where I am heading. The training and knowledge I have gained is something I will be greatfull for, for the rest of my life.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

10/10

My salary is okay, it is the best paid apprentiship I have heard of. It covers everything I need it to, an I also am able to travel for away days etc. And the company pays for all travel expenses.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

10/10

I think if I needed to, the experience I have gained whilst on the anchor apprentiship academy, would be greatly welcomed by all employees in this sector. But I have no reason to look outside of work for anything because everything I need/want I gain from work.
