  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Caring for elderly people with dementia, providing a safe environment that is clean and full of entertainment and proceeding three meals a day along with refreshments through out the day. Also any personal care and toiletry needs they may require including support for people with disabilities.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new things about mental health and social care in general including the laws behind it including procedures that have to be carried out daily or in emergency situations. I have also learnt about dementia and what happens to individuals with it and how it is different to every person

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program a lot, I enjoy learning and developing myself further with anchor.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Anchor Trust?
  • I have been valued greatly by the staff at anchor and also my advisor, they have helped me with any problems and improved whatever I needed improving.

  • It is structured well and I haven't had any problems with it so far.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive a lot of support, including just having someone to talk to if I'm not happy with anything or struggling even if it isn't work related.

  • I have received the same level of support as my training provider

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • In terms of salary it is above the minimum and I recieve help with travel costs too so I am very happy with the salary provided

  • They have training days away at varied locations and also the home I work for provides many events to attend

  • 9. Would you recommend Anchor Trust to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • They have only recently started the apprentice scheme but so far they have worked very hard and are an excellent company to work for


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Anchor Trust?
  • The only advice I could give is if they are committed to become a qualified carer one day then they should apply
